FAQs
At Made by Moo, I use a variety of quality materials including faux leather, cotton, canvas, and waterproof canvas. I’ve also discovered that curtain blocking fabric makes an excellent water-resistant lining for products such as makeup bags and wet bags. All fabrics are complemented by high-quality hardware to ensure both durability and style.
Most of my bags are water-resistant, not fully waterproof. Faux leather, marine vinyl and upholstery vinyl naturally repel light rain or splashes, but should still be kept out of heavy rain and never submerged.
Bags made with cotton exteriors are not water-resistant on their own, but I can treat them with Scotchgard to help protect the fabric from spills and light moisture.
For linings, I can use waterproof or water-resistant canvas, which adds an extra layer of protection — especially useful for makeup bags, wet bags, or everyday handbags.
Made by Moo handbags are designed to be durable and low-maintenance, even with a mix of faux leather and cotton fabrics. To keep your bag looking its best:
Wipe faux leather or vinyl surfaces with a soft, damp cloth
Spot clean cotton fabrics with mild soap and water if needed
Avoid harsh cleaners, bleach, or soaking the bag
Store away from direct sunlight to prevent fading
Do not machine wash or tumble dry
Avoid overfilling your bag or carrying excessive weight, as this can put pressure on straps and cause fabrics to stretch.
With a little care, your bag will stay beautiful and functional for years to come.
All Made by Moo bags come with a one-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This includes issues like broken hardware or stitching problems that occur during normal use.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
Overfilling or carrying excessive weight
Modification or repair attempts by the owner
General wear and tear, including stretching of fabrics or rubbing of surfaces
After one year, repairs can still be assessed — simply contact me with photos of your bag, and I’ll provide a quote. Shipping and repair costs are the buyer’s responsibility, but I’m always happy to work with you to help extend the life of your bag.
aux leather and marine vinyl are generally durable and resistant to fading or cracking with normal use. With proper care, your bag should maintain its appearance for a long time. Some wear may naturally appear on high-contact areas like straps or corners over time, which is normal and doesn’t indicate a defect.
For cotton or canvas fabrics, some fading can occur over the years, especially if the bag is exposed to direct sunlight for long periods. To keep your bag looking fresh, I recommend storing it out of direct sunlight when not in use and following the care tips provided.
Yes, a little. While it won’t stretch like real leather, faux leather may soften and relax slightly with regular use. This helps your bag become more comfortable while keeping its overall shape.
